Cookie Policy
Last updated: 2 May 2026
Hi — I'm Daniela, the person behind Kapybara Fun. This page explains the cookies I use and why. The short version: I only use cookies that are strictly necessary to make the site work, and I don't use anything for advertising or cross-site tracking.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device to remember things between page loads — like whether you're logged in. Some are essential (the site can't function without them), others are used for analytics, advertising, or personalization. I only use the essential kind.
What I use cookies for
Kapybara Fun sets the following cookies, all classified as strictly necessary under GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive:
Authentication / session cookies. Keep you logged in as you move between pages. Without these, you'd have to sign in again on every page.
Security cookies. Protect against cross-site request forgery (CSRF) and other common attacks. Without these, your account would be more vulnerable.
Preference cookies. Remember small UI choices — for example, that you've dismissed a notice, or your selected billing cycle on the pricing page.
Payment processing cookies. When you go to checkout, Stripe (my payment processor) sets its own cookies to handle the payment securely and prevent fraud. These are managed by Stripe, not by me. You can read about them in Stripe's cookie policy.
What I don't use
I want to be upfront about what I'm not doing:
- No advertising cookies. I don't run ads on Kapybara Fun, and I don't share your data with ad networks.
- No cross-site tracking. I don't use Facebook Pixel, Google Ads tags, or anything similar that follows you around the web.
- No analytics that profile you. I currently don't run any analytics platform. If I add one in the future, it'll be a privacy-respecting option (like Plausible or self-hosted alternatives) that doesn't use cookies or build profiles about individuals — and I'll update this policy first.
- No social media tracking pixels. No “Like” or “Share” buttons that report your visit to third parties.
Why I don't show a cookie banner
Under EU law (the ePrivacy Directive and GDPR), a cookie consent banner is required when a site uses non-essential cookies — for advertising, analytics with profiling, or similar. Strictly necessary cookies are exempt from the consent requirement. Since Kapybara Fun only uses strictly necessary cookies, no banner is needed.
If I ever add cookies that dorequire consent, you'll see a proper consent banner before any are set.
Your control over cookies
You can clear or block cookies anytime through your browser settings. Here's where to find them in common browsers:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
Heads up: blocking strictly necessary cookies will break parts of Kapybara Fun. You won't be able to stay logged in, your settings won't be remembered, and checkout won't work. That's not me being difficult — it's because those cookies are doing essential jobs.
Changes to this policy
If I add new cookies or change how existing ones work, I'll update this page and update the “Last updated” date at the top. For changes that require your consent (e.g., adding analytics or marketing cookies), I'll show a consent banner before any new cookies are set.
